A Fun and Poignant look at Life and Love

This project didn’t start out as a concept record. It was going to be a compilation of the best gifts the muse has given me in recent years. But, as it sometimes turns out, similar metaphors had wormed their quirky way into my lyrical vocabulary. I was, of course, aware of this. But when a good friend heard the songs and accused me of having a “carnival fetish,” I had to sit back and think about that. Do these songs really belong together? Then I decided, "Of course, they do !” So, I decided to embrace their commonality, and use that as the theme of the whole album.
